Kung Fu Tea: Does caramel belong in boba?

Kung Fu Tea: Does caramel belong in boba?

Overall Critic Rating: 7/10 ⭐️

Kung Fu Tea has returned once again with new flavors to sip into. With many locations, most accessible from Townsend Harris by taking the Q64 to 108th St, Kung Fu Tea has quickly become a major franchise on the boba scene. I went to Austin Street (70-10 Austin St Suite 3) to check out what they had to offer. The shop itself is very tiny without many places to sit and enjoy your beverages. Here are the drinks I tried:

Hershey Hot Chocolate: 9/10 ($6.95)

This drink proved to be a delightful experience. Its creaminess added a luxurious feel to it, creating a smooth and satisfying texture. The beverage was perfectly balanced, having a chocolatey essence without an overpowering flavor. However, bubbles in the hot chocolate are not a good move; they didn’t enhance the overall experience in any way. I would recommend getting this drink hot as opposed to an iced chocolate drink. It truly shines when enjoyed warmly, emphasizing its rich and comfy qualities. Overall, I enjoyed this drink, and if it weren’t for the bubbles, I’d give it a 10/10.

Caramel Milk Tea: 5/10 ($6.85)

The Caramel Milk Tea left much to be desired in my experience. The light flavor of the caramel tea was disappointing, leaving it with a lackluster taste. The beverage was extremely watered down; it was almost as if there was no tea in it. Moreover, the bubbles made it look slimy, adding another unappealing element. Overall, this drink failed to meet my expectations, and I will not be getting it again.

Overall, I prefer the hot chocolate over the caramel milk tea. It was simply the perfect hot chocolate for the winter. The caramel tea, on the other hand, was a huge letdown; I highly disliked it. I would return to Kung Fu Tea in the future to try their rotating selection of flavors.
