Can a Water Bottle be Technology?

Can+a+Water+Bottle+be+Technology%3F

Most people who trust New York City tap water tend to just drink it and go along with their day. The tap water in New York is known to be the “champagne of tap waters,” and according to the EWG assessment, the tap water here follows federal regulations. However, there is still a lot of chemical byproduct in New York City tap water due to the way it is disinfected and trace amounts of metal because of the old pipes that make up our city’s water system.

You’ve probably learned that boiling water helps filter water; some of you may even do it as precaution, but that is not enough. According to the article, “Does Boiling Water Help Get Rid of Chemicals, Metals, and Minerals?” by HomeWater, boiling water does not help remove minerals and heavy metals. Plus, having open straws, which is a style in some of the trending water bottles, may even exacerbate this issue of drinking clean water. This brings water bottles that filter into the equation, and Larq is one of them.

Starting with its simple design, Larq water bottles are like the traditional stainless steel water bottles with a little bit of a twist. They keep liquids cold for up to 24 hours, and they keep liquids hot for up to 12 hours. The twist is that they have a built-in filtration system that works around the clock, thus conducting multiple filtrations throughout the day. YouTuber One Tech Traveler created a review after one year of using Larq water bottles, where he explained the filtering system that is in the cap of the water bottle and how convenient the filtering process is. Even after one year, he explained how the Larq water bottles have not had any technical issues, and are still amazing to use.

You may be thinking, “What’s the point of using something like that when products like Brita bottles can filter my water at a cheaper price?” Although that statement holds true, a 32 oz Larq water bottle is $98.00 and a 32 oz Brita water bottle is $39.99, cheaper is not always better. Having a bottle of water that filters your water for you multiple times with a click of a button is game-changing. Also, Larq is more effective to use as a long-term water bottle according to One Tech Traveler.

Overall, Larq water bottles are a bottle worth looking into, especially if you are someone who likes to know what type of water you are drinking, or if you have a family member or friend that shares the same concerns. Even though Larq water bottles are expensive, they offer convenience for those with busy lifestyles and/or not the best at-home filtration systems. Larq is also not the only brand that is doing this; many different brands are exploring this side of technology, which shows how fast everyday items, like water bottles, are growing to be a part of the technological side of this world.
